What Is Sai Sandhya?
Sai Sandhya, also called Sai Bhajan Sandhya, is a devotional evening in which singers and musicians present bhajans, Sai Chalisa, kirtan and aarti in remembrance of Shirdi Sai Baba. The word sandhya simply means evening. Devotees gather in the early evening, sit before an image of Sai Baba, sing together and conclude with the aarti and prasad. Sai Baba is known for the messages of faith (shraddha) and patience (saburi), and a Sai Sandhya brings these ideas into music that people of all ages can follow. Thursday is traditionally considered a special day for Sai devotees, so many families and Sai mandirs choose Thursday evenings for their programme, though any suitable date can be used.
In Delhi NCR, Sai Sandhya is organised at homes for birthdays, anniversaries, Griha Pravesh and the start of a new business, as well as at Sai temples, community halls and residential societies. Unlike a night-long Jagran, a Sai Sandhya is calmer, shorter and easy to host for families with elderly members or small children.
Why Choose Vaishno Jagran Party for Sai Sandhya?
Although our name is Vaishno Jagran Party, our team under Bablu Ji performs a range of devotional programmes, including Sai Sandhya in Delhi, Mata Ki Chowki, Khatu Shyam Bhajan and Sunderkand Path. We have been serving devotees since 1995 and have performed over 12,000 programmes of Jagran and Chowki. Our experience in managing live devotional music means that your Sai Sandhya gets a professional sound system, trained vocalists and a team that understands the mood of a Sai bhajan evening.
- Sai bhajan singers: lead vocalists and chorus artists who sing both traditional Sai bhajans and the simple, melodious songs that families can join.
- Musicians: harmonium, dholak, tabla, keyboard and percussion, chosen according to your venue and budget.
- Sound system: clear sound with microphones suitable for a room or a hall.
- Sai darbar decoration: flowers, drapes and lighting around the image of Sai Baba, if you want a decorated setting.
- Flexible duration: from a short two-hour Sandhya to a longer programme with kirtan and aarti.
What Is Included in a Sai Sandhya Booking?
| Component | Details |
|---|---|

| Sound | Speakers, microphones and mixer sized for the venue. |

We always confirm the items in advance so that you know exactly what to expect. Pandit services, prasad and food are usually arranged by the host family, and we are happy to advise you on timing.
How Does a Sai Sandhya Evening Run?
- Preparation: the host places the Sai Baba image or murti on a clean platform with flowers, incense and a lamp. Our team sets up sound and instruments.
- Opening prayers: the evening begins with Ganesh vandana and a short invocation of Sai Baba.
- Bhajans and kirtan: the singers present a sequence of Sai bhajans, with some songs inviting the audience to repeat the lines.
- Sai Chalisa or special prayers (optional): if your family follows this tradition, a recitation or group singing can be included.
- Aarti: the main Sai Baba aarti is sung with everyone standing and clapping.
- Prasad: prasad is distributed, followed by a meal if arranged.
Helpful to know: A Sai Sandhya is usually quieter than a Jagran. If you live in an apartment, we can reduce the number of instruments and keep the sound level comfortable for neighbours.
Occasions for Sai Sandhya
Families book a Sai Sandhya for personal and community reasons. The most common occasions include:
- Birthday
- Wedding
- Griha Pravesh
- Muhurta & Lagna
- Ashtami
- Amavasya
- Poornima
- Wedding Anniversary
- Ganesh Chaturthi
- Mahashivratri
- Janmashtami
- Navratri
- Society & RWA Events
- Temple Events
Thursdays and special Sai days at Sai mandirs are particularly popular. Some temples also invite us to perform for annual celebrations, where a larger orchestra and a stage are required.
Sai Sandhya for Home, Society and Sai Mandir
At Home
A home Sai Sandhya is intimate and personal. We recommend choosing a quiet, well-lit corner or a living room where the Sai Baba image can be placed, and arranging seating for family and neighbours. Our team will adapt the number of artists to your space, so the music sounds full without becoming overwhelming.
In Housing Societies
Many societies in Noida, Greater Noida West, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Delhi invite us to perform for the residents. We coordinate with the society office on the venue, parking and timing, and we can scale the programme from a small clubhouse gathering to a larger community-park event.
At Sai Mandirs and Community Halls
For Sai temples and halls, we fit our programme to your schedule of arti and puja. If your mandir has its own bhajan group, we are happy to complement it with additional singers and music.
Our Sai Bhajan Singers and Musicians
A Sai Sandhya relies on a calm, sincere voice. Our vocalists are trained in devotional singing and know how to create a gentle opening that gradually brings people into the rhythm of the bhajans. They sing both the traditional Sai bhajans and the simpler refrain-based songs that allow every person to take part. Our musicians support them with soft percussion and harmonium so that the words remain clear. If you have a favourite bhajan or a request from an elderly family member, we will include it in the order.
We can also coordinate a combined programme in which a Sai Sandhya is followed by a Hanuman bhajan or a short Sunderkand Path, or in which Sai bhajans are combined with Krishna and Shiv bhajans in a general Bhajan Sandhya.
The Message Behind Sai Sandhya
Shirdi Sai Baba is remembered for simple teachings: have faith, practise patience, help those in need and see the Divine in every person. The well-known saying associated with him, Sabka Malik Ek, meaning that one Master is the Lord of all, is why people of many backgrounds attend Sai bhajan evenings. A Sai Sandhya is therefore not limited to a single community. Neighbours, friends and colleagues can join the programme, sit together and sing the same refrains. When you plan the evening, you may wish to keep this inclusive spirit in mind and invite everyone who would like to take part.
Sai Sandhya, Mata Ki Chowki and Bhajan Sandhya: Which One Should You Choose?
| Programme | Mood and length | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|
| Sai Sandhya | Calm, devotional, two to four hours | Thursday evenings, family functions, Sai mandirs |
| Mata Ki Chowki | Energetic bhents and aarti, three to five hours | Navratri, Ashtami, wishes fulfilled, society events |
| Mata Ka Jagran | Night-long vigil of bhajans | Vows, large family gatherings, temple events |
| Bhajan Sandhya | Mixed bhajans for several deities | Families who follow more than one tradition |
If you are unsure, call us. We will listen to what you want to achieve and recommend the programme that suits your family and your venue.
A Simple Planning Timeline
- Two to three weeks before: fix the date, tell us the venue and number of guests, and decide whether you want decoration and Sai Chalisa.
- One week before: confirm the programme order, the time of aarti and the arrival time of the team; invite guests and neighbours.
- Two days before: arrange the pandit if you want a puja, buy flowers and prasad, and check electricity points.
- On the day: keep the space clean and free for set-up, and keep the aarti thali ready.
Cost of Sai Sandhya Booking
If you are searching for the Sai Sandhya cost or Sai bhajan Sandhya booking price, please remember that the price depends on how you design the evening. A small home programme with a few artists costs less than a large society event with a bigger team, decoration and powerful sound. We offer customised packages so that you can match the programme to your budget. The factors that decide the price are the number of artists, the duration, sound and decoration, date and timing, venue and travel distance. Call us with these details and we will explain the options and the quote clearly.

Etiquette for Guests at a Sai Sandhya
Guests are usually asked to remove footwear before entering the prayer area, to wear simple, comfortable clothes and to keep mobile phones silent. Elders may be offered seats near the front. Children are welcome and often enjoy the aarti. Photography is normally fine from a respectful distance, but it is best to ask the host first. If you are hosting, a small welcome note on the invitation that mentions the aarti time, the venue and any parking details makes everyone feel comfortable and prepared.
Preparing Your Venue
For the best experience, choose a clean and quiet space for the Sai Baba image. Arrange seating on mats or chairs for guests, with some chairs for elderly attendees. Keep flowers, incense, a lamp and a small thali for aarti ready. Place a table for prasad close to the exit so guests can collect it after the aarti. Check the electricity points for the sound system and keep a clear path for the musicians to carry their instruments. For outdoor events, arrange a tent or shamiana and keep water available. If the programme is in a society, inform the society management and neighbours about the timing.
