Photo Gallery: Mata Ki Chowki and Jagran Programmes
A photograph can show what a description cannot: the glow of a decorated darbar, the colour of fresh flowers, the shape of a stage and the expression of a singer lost in a bhajan. The images below come from devotional programmes organised by Vaishno Jagran Party. Click any picture to see it larger, and use the arrows to move through the collection. If something in the gallery matches what you imagine for your own event, note the picture and tell us when you call, so that we can discuss how to recreate it in your venue and budget.

What You Can See in Our Photos
Darbar and Decoration
Many pictures show the Mata Rani darbar, the central focus of a Chowki or Jagran. You will see floral decoration with marigold and other flowers, drapes in different colours, offerings placed in front of the idols, and lion statues beside the Goddess. Darbars vary in size and style. Some are simple and traditional; others have layered stages, arches and many lights. The best choice depends on your venue, budget and the mood you want.
Stage and Lighting
Several photographs show the stage lit with coloured lights. Lighting has a strong effect on the atmosphere: warm yellow and saffron lights create a traditional glow, while multi-coloured lights give a festive look. We suggest lighting that supports devotion rather than distracts from it, and we adjust the brightness to the time of day and the venue.
Singers and Musicians
Photographs of Bablu Ji and other singers show the live performance in action. You can see the singers close to the darbar, and the musicians seated nearby. Live singing makes a Jagran unique because the singer responds to the audience, extending a bhajan when people are moved and shortening it when the time is limited.
Posters and Information
A few images are promotional posters that show the programmes we offer and our contact details. They are included for information and to help you recognise our team.
Video Gallery
Videos show something photographs cannot: the sound. You can watch the programmes above and on our YouTube channel to get a sense of the music, the audience participation and the pace of a typical evening. We also invite you to visit our YouTube channel for more.
A Short Guide to Darbar and Stage Styles
| Style | Description | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Simple floral darbar | Mata Rani image or idol with marigold garlands, a lamp and a small backdrop. | Living rooms, small family events, Sunderkand Path |
| Draped and lit darbar | Fabric drapes, LED lights, floral arch and a raised platform. | Society clubhouses, terraces, Chowki |
| Grand stage darbar | Multi-level stage, statues, lions, large floral decoration and stage lighting. | Lawns, banquet halls, temple events, Jagran |
| Jhanki stage | Space for costumed artists with a themed backdrop. | Large events and community celebrations |
None of these is better than the others in every situation. A smaller darbar in a small room feels warm and devotional, while the same darbar on a large lawn can look lost. We help you match the style to the space.
Understanding the Setting Behind Each Photograph
Many of the pictures in this gallery were taken at evening programmes, so the lighting is part of the design. Notice how the colour of the lights changes the feeling: green and blue light feels cool and calm, while red, orange and yellow feel warm and festive. Notice the seating, too. In several pictures, the darbar is raised on a low platform so that every guest can see it, and the singers sit to one side, not in front of the idols, which keeps the focus on the deity. Notice the offerings: fruits, sweets, coconuts and flowers placed in front of the idol, usually arranged by the host family. These small details are part of what makes a Chowki or Jagran feel complete, and we can advise you about each.
Lighting, Sound and Safety Behind the Scenes
Good photographs hide a lot of preparation. Cables are routed along the edges of the stage and taped down. Speakers are placed so that every guest hears clearly without any single area being too loud. Decorations are kept away from lamps and heaters. A fire extinguisher or a bucket of sand is kept near the darbar when lamps are used. Power supply is checked, and a backup is arranged for outdoor events. Exits are kept clear. None of this appears in the picture, but all of it contributes to a peaceful evening. When you plan your own event, you can ask us about these arrangements and we will explain what we do and what the host should arrange.
Seasons and Occasions Reflected in the Gallery
Our photographs come from different times of the year and different occasions. Navratri programmes tend to have richer decoration and larger audiences, with marigold garlands and red and gold drapes. Birthday and anniversary programmes are often smaller, with softer decoration. Winter programmes may show people wrapped in shawls, while summer programmes may have more open spaces and fans. Weddings and housewarming events often have colourful lights. If you are planning for a particular season or occasion, tell us, and we will suggest decoration and layout that suit it.
Frequently Asked Questions About Darbar Decoration
Do we need to arrange the idol or image?
Usually the host family provides the idol or picture of the deity, since many families have a personal image they worship. If you do not have one, we can guide you on where to obtain a suitable image and how to place it.
Can the darbar be set up at home?
Yes. For homes we suggest a compact darbar that fits the room without blocking the way. Tell us the dimensions of the space and the position of the electrical points.
How much time is needed to set up?
A simple darbar may take an hour or two. A larger stage with lighting and decoration may need several hours. We tell you in advance when the team will arrive.
Can we choose colours?
Yes. Share your colour preferences, and we will try to follow them while staying within the devotional tradition.
How to Use This Gallery When Planning Your Event
- Choose a style: look at the darbar photographs and decide whether you prefer a simple or a richly decorated look.
- Think about your venue: a clubhouse or lawn can take a larger darbar than a living room.
- Select the colours: note whether you like saffron and red, pink and gold, or green and white.
- Decide on jhanki: if you would like costumed artists, say so when you call.
- Share your picks: tell us the pictures you like. We will explain what is feasible and what it involves.
Photography at Your Event
Many families ask about photography and videography at the programme. You are free to arrange your own photographer or to take photographs and videos with your phone. We suggest that the photographer keeps to the sides during the aarti so that the devotees can sit peacefully, and that flash photography is used sparingly during prayers. If you would like us to suggest a photographer, we can guide you. If you intend to post photographs of guests online, it is courteous to ask for their permission.
Honest Representation of Our Work
All the photographs on this page come from our own programmes and promotional material. We do not use stock pictures to pretend that we have performed in places where we have not. If you would like more examples for a particular type of venue, such as a society lawn, a banquet hall or a temple, call us and we will share what is available. We prefer that you see our real work and make your choice with full information.
Decoration Ideas From Our Experience
- Marigold and rose garlands: classic, fragrant and affordable, they suit nearly every darbar.
- Fabric drapes: pink, red, gold and green drapes can transform a plain wall or stage into a devotional setting.
- Lamps and diyas: placed safely, they add warmth and meaning. Keep them away from curtains and paper.
- LED lighting: energy-efficient and flexible, LED lights allow soft colour changes without heat.
- Offerings and fruits: arranged in front of the idol, they add colour and show devotion.
- Rangoli: a simple rangoli at the entrance welcomes guests and sets the mood.
Choosing Images and Moments to Remember
Families often ask which moments of a Jagran are worth photographing. The most meaningful are usually the lighting of the lamp, the first bhajan, the aarti with everyone standing, children seated near the darbar and elders receiving prasad. A group picture before the programme, when the darbar is complete and the lights are on, is also valued. If you plan to make an album or a short video, share your wish list with your photographer in advance. It also helps to tell us which parts of the programme you want to record so that the singers can give you a moment, for example by pausing for a family blessing or by holding a final jaikara for the camera.
Preserving Memories Respectfully
Photographs of devotional events are precious, and many families keep them for generations. It is a good practice to avoid pointing cameras at people who are praying with closed eyes, and to be gentle with elders who may not like being photographed. Keep phones on silent mode, and avoid using flash during the aarti. When sharing photographs online, consider whether guests would like to be tagged, and if children appear, whether their parents are comfortable. These small courtesies help everyone remember the event with warmth, and they keep the devotional atmosphere intact during the programme itself.
Share Your Own Pictures With Us
If you have hosted a programme with us and would like to share pictures or a short note, you are welcome to send them by WhatsApp or email. With your permission, we may add selected images to this gallery. We never publish a family's photograph without their consent, and we will not publish any picture that you would prefer to keep private. Your pictures also help us learn what families enjoy most, so that we can improve our arrangements for future events.
